🐾 General Services & Booking

  • Travel is included within 10 miles of North Port. A $10 fee applies for 11–15 miles and $20 for 16–25 miles.

  • I don’t charge extra for pets boarding in my home during holidays — they’re part of our family celebration! However, for holiday walks or drop-in visits (like Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or Christmas), a $10–$15 holiday surcharge applies. This helps compensate for time spent away from my family to care for your pets.

  • There is a holiday rate for drop ins and walks on the following holidays only: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas

  • Payment is can be made at the start of services or at the end. Deposits may be required to hold boarding or holiday reservations and are credited toward your total.

  • Yes! I truly appreciate my returning clients — your trust means the world to me. 💕

As a thank-you, Talented Tails offers loyalty credits toward future stays for repeat clients.
These may be applied at my discretion for things like:

    • Frequent bookings or extended stays

    • Referring new clients

    • Booking directly through my website (instead of third-party apps)

    • Showing consistent communication and reliability

Loyalty credits are applied as a discount on a future booking — you don’t need a code or to request it; I’ll apply it personally when it fits!

It’s just one of the ways I like to say thank you for supporting my small business and trusting me with your furry family. 🐾💛

  • Cancellations must be made 24 hours unless due to an emergency.

  • I provide in-home pet care including dog walks, drop-ins, and overnight boarding. Services are customized for each pet’s needs and comfort level.

  • A walk is a quick, leashed potty break or exercise outing.

A drop-in includes time spent at your home, without need a walk, and may involve just feeding, clean up, or playtime Drop-ins are ideal for pets who need more than just a walk.

  • Visits are available in 10, 20, 30, or 60-minute sessions for dogs, 10 and 20 min options for cats and exotics.. Rates are based on $1 per minute. Additional fees may apply.

  • Absolutely! You can request a Meet & Gree. We have multiple options to appease every client. This is especially great for first-time clients. If there are any concerns, we can set up additional meet and greets. This allows me to properly assess each pet and give the best care tailored fro them.

  • As a veterinary technician, I bring medical training, behavioral experience, and emergency awareness to every visit.

    This means:

Safe handling of pets with medical or behavioral issues

    Proper medication administration

Confidence that your pet is in the care of a trained professional—not just a hobby sitter

It’s like having a nurse for your pet while you're away.

It’s like having a nurse for your pet while you're away.

  • No problem! We offer discounts for multiple pets to be accomodating. For example, our normal rate for overnight boarding is $40/night, but your 2nd dog would be $20/night. Let us know ahead of time for the appropriate quote so we can give everyone the care they need.

🐾 Fees & Payments

🐾Behavior & Safety

  • Safety comes first for every pet in my care. Pets must be comfortable being handled and walked by someone outside their family. If a pet shows fear, stress, or aggressive behavior, additional handling fees may apply, and in some cases service may be declined for everyone’s safety. A meet and greet can help establish a pet’s comfortability. If the pet becomes aggressive during booking, we do reserve the right to discontinue service for safety reasons and we ask that you have established back up care in extreme cases.

  • Yes, a handling fee may apply for pets that require extra time, caution, or restraint to ensure safety for everyone involved.

  • Basic medical care—such as administering oral, topical, transdermal, and injectable medications, ear cleaning, nail trims, anal gland expression, or monitoring special conditions such as administering subcutaneous fluids—can be included. All must be under your vet’s specific instructions and must be monitored by them carefully. In some situations I may require vet approval.

  • I do my best to accommodate pets needing frequent supervision, though this may require special scheduling or an additional care fee. We can discuss options during your consultation.

🐾Boarding

⚠️ Emergencies & Weather

Q: What if there’s an emergency or severe weather?
A backup plan is required for every client—such as an emergency contact or local boarding facility—in case care must be transferred unexpectedly (illness, accident, or aggressive behavior).
During Florida storms, hurricanes, or unsafe heat conditions, I’ll communicate promptly to confirm, delay, or reschedule visits. Safety always comes first.

  • Boarding with Talented Tails is charged by the night and covers up to 24 hours of care from your pet’s drop-off time.
For example, a 6 PM drop-off means your rate covers care through 6 PM the following day.

💛 Returning clients occasionally receive loyalty credits toward future stays as a thank-you for your continued trust!

  • We understand life happens and sometimes pick-up times run a little late!
Your boarding rate covers a full 24-hour period (for example, drop-off at 10 AM = pick-up by 10 AM next day).

If your pet is picked up after the 24-hour window, a small extended-care fee applies to reserve their spot and cover extra care time if it goes past 8 hours.

This helps ensure fairness for both existing and incoming pets, while keeping your pet comfortable and cared for until pick-up.

  • Yes! For your convenience, I can provide safe and reliable pick-up or drop-off service (based on availability).

    • 0–5 miles → Free
    • 6–10 miles → $10
    • 11–20 miles → $15
    • 21–25 miles → $20
    • 26+ miles → Starting at $25 plus $1 per mile beyond 25 miles

Please schedule in advance so I can plan travel time accordingly.
    Available for boarding clients only.

  • Yes — I have experience working with pets who suffer from anxiety.

Because someone is always home, your pet will get regular interaction, a calm environment, and vet tech-level supervision. Plus, most importantly, a plethora of TLC from our very large family! We do have the ability to provide a safe space and quiet time when needed.

If your pet has severe anxiety, I recommend multiple meet and greets prior in your home and in mine for a small fee to help with transitioning. I also suggest trial stays for short periods before hand if possible. For drop-ins/walks, I suggest booking longer visits to accommodate their needs.

  • I completely understand! Your pet’s comfort and safety come first.

If you'd prefer your pet to be the only guest during their stay, I offer a solo boarding upgrade for a higher fee (subject to availability). Just reach out before booking, and I’ll confirm if I can accommodate them exclusively. If not, I will make sure pets are paired with other pets that won’t cause stress. I will communicate if it would be in your pet’s best interest to consider walks/drop-ins instead.

  • I do have cats in my home so a meet and greet in your home will help me determine if your pet can be around cats. If I have any concerns, a second meet and greet on leash in my home will help gauge if there will be an issue. I will also provide proper introductions but can guarantee my cats will not be a bother as they are completely used to dogs.

Let me know in advance if this is a concern, and I’ll make sure the setup is stress-free and goes smoothly

  • No! The only requirement is enough food for their stay and their medications if needed. I have plenty of toys and I also have beds. If allowed, pets can go on the furniture also. I have many kennels if a pet needs to be crated. You are more than welcome to bring their own bed or any comfort toys. I do ask you provide their leashes.

  • I utilize an Anxiety Support Program

For pets with anxiety, I recommend a Meet & Greet in your home, followed by multiple meet and greets if necessary, and lastly utilizing a Trial Stay in my home. This process helps your pet adjust gradually, so they feel safe and comfortable when it’s time for an overnight.

Let us know if you'd like to build a gradual care plan. Your pet’s emotional wellbeing matters just as much as their physical care!
