Welcome to the Tailented Tails pack- Meet the Wiesmeth’s

Hi, I’m Traci — a veterinary technician with 19 years of experience, a lifelong animal lover, and a mom of five who runs a home filled with care, compassion, and furry guests.

I fell into this career by fate at 20 years old, unsure of what I wanted to do next in life. I was lucky enough to find a veterinarian who took me under their wing and trained me on the job as a veterinary assistant. I never imagined I could turn my deep love for animals into a career — but the moment I stepped into that world, I knew I had found my calling.

I began my career in New York, where I trained in emergency medicine, an experience that still shapes how I care for animals today. That background allows me to notice subtle signs of illness or discomfort before they become serious — an extra layer of peace of mind for families who trust me with their pets.

With a house full of kids (and pets!), my husband and I run Talented Tails as a family. Someone is always home, making our space ideal for pets who need companionship, attention, and a low-stress environment. We’ve even opened our hearts and home to dogs who needed us most — from shy rescues to seniors and special-needs pets.

I love sharing daily photo and video updates so you feel connected and reassured while you’re away. Seeing nervous or anxious pets blossom into relaxed, joyful companions — sometimes within a single day — is truly the greatest reward.

Whether it’s routine care, special needs, or just a little extra TLC, I’m here to offer your pet a home away from home — with a vet tech’s peace of mind.

My husband, Billy, is a local chef and a total cat whisperer.
We have five kids — Hannah, William, Maggie, Lia, and Henry — who all share my love for animals. Our oldest, Hannah, is wonderfully responsible and always eager to help, especially when it means extra cuddles. As we grow, we hope to have her take on a bigger role in the family business.

The younger four are always excited to help feed, walk, and snuggle our furry guests. They’re learning responsibility one tiny pup at a time — and making sure there’s never a moment when our boarders go without love or attention.

🐾 Meet Our Dogs

We share our home with three amazing dogs — Nala, Jazzy, and Spike — each with their own story and personality that make Talented Tails what it is today.

Nala is a Siberian Retriever — a fancy name for a Husky-Lab mix. She’s both a typical and atypical Husky: thankfully, she rarely whines, but she can mimic sounds just like one! Nala has an incredible ability to match the energy of every dog she meets. Although she came to us with severe separation anxiety after bouncing between homes, she’s now the heart of our pack and the reason we started boarding in the first place.

Jazzy, our Shiba Inu, came to us as a boarding guest and never left after her family’s circumstances changed. When she first arrived, she was afraid of everything — life itself! Through patience, love, and consistent training, she’s shown tremendous growth and confidence. She and Nala are now inseparable — a true testament to time and understanding.

Spike, our newest addition, was one of my first boarders. Months later, I saw a post from the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County — an incredible rescue — seeking emergency fosters. When I realized it was Spike, I knew it was meant to be. After our reunion and a heartfelt meet-and-greet, we all agreed that Spike was home for good. He’s now FURever grateful — and so are we.

🐱 Meet Our Cats

We also share our home with three beloved cats — Leo, Anna, and Lulu — each with their own incredible story.

Leo was rescued at just three days old and has grown into a loyal, loving companion. He’s now 10 years old! Around the same time, we adopted his sister Anna and her littermate when they were just eight weeks old. Sadly, Anna’s sister Elsa passed away unexpectedly last year, but her memory lives on in our hearts.

Lulu came to us as a hurricane foster. When we called the shelter to say we wanted to adopt her, they were surprised — they said she “wasn’t nice.” It turns out she simply hated the shelter environment. Once home, she blossomed into the sweetest companion. We truly believe we saved her life — just like we did with our very first cat years ago.

Last year, we also opened our hearts to two senior rescues.
Sabrina, a 17-year-old blind cat who had been abandoned outside, came to us needing love in her final chapter. Though she wasn’t the friendliest at first, she became such a blessing to our family and passed peacefully knowing she was safe.
Then there was Junior — 13 years old, only 4 lbs, but with the biggest personality. Despite his health issues and having been abandoned twice, he never stopped purring or giving hugs. Our kids adored him, and he’ll always hold a special place in our hearts.

Each animal we care for — whether our own or yours — becomes part of our extended family forever. ❤️

Rest in Peace to our pawsitively purrfect furbabies, Sabrina, Elsa, and Junior
